Producing Wingless Drosophila Melanogaster Fruit Fly Culture   OUT OF STOCK

Drosophila melanogaster

Drosophila melanogaster  are  the most commonly cultured fruit fly and measure about 1/16". These are an ideal staple food for poison dart frogsfish, hatchling praying mantids, small frogs and toadstarantula babies and other reptiles, amphibians, or captive animals that need small foods. These flies are wingless and are unable to fly.

fruit fly cultures should be kept at 75-78F and 60-80% humidity. Drosophila melanogaster is a smaller, faster reproducing species, taking about 2 weeks to complete its life cycle on freshly setup cultures and will not produce any new flies for 2-3 weeks
